I want to tell you about my own experience with a Personal Stylist on a shopping trip. Now, I am reasonably fussy, know what I like and what I don’t like (I also know my own body shape, colours and personal style) so I was a little, what shall I say, sure that this trip wouldn’t work out to my advantage….but Oh My was I wrong!

Every Image Consultant / Personal Stylist that is worth their salt uses their own stylist. Everyone can go wayward once in a while (we are only human after all) and it is our job to be a walking advertisement for our business, so we have to maintain our own wardrobes and keep our garments accessories and hairstyles up to date and fresh.

So, I had enlisted my own stylist for the day to assist me in updating my wardrobe as I had lost a few kilos and was in desperate need of some new clothes.

Wow, I learned so much about myself that it was a real surprise. It’s amazing how you forget things about who you are and what really suits you. I get drenched in black, although I love wearing it, but my stylist showed me ways to wear it so that it doesn’t wear me – along with accessories that really make me look a million dollars. All things I know, yes, but we have a tendency to be able to teach and show others, but not do the same for ourselves.

All I can say is this. If you can invest a little time and money into working with a personal stylist, even if it is just to show you some really cool tricks, you will always look fabulous and you will feel it too.

Love Susan

So that also means that 80% of your wardrobe could amount to thousands of wasted $$$’s that you could have spent on something else. We all keep talking about the economic climate and that we need to save our money, one way to do this is to turn your wardrobe into a working wardrobe that you can utilise as your shopping destination instead of spending more!

A small investment into a Wardrobe Review with a Personal Stylist / Image Consultant could be one of the greatest investments you will ever make. You will learn how to mix and match outfits, create new outfits using accessories and also the professional tricks of “shopping your closet” – you would be amazed that you can create over 50 outfits with 10 items, in fact, if you are creative you will create even more!

Once you have your items sorted with your stylist/consultant, you will be able to see your garments clearly and have put away winter items during summer and vice versa. Trans-seasonal items always stay in the wardrobe, they can be handy additions to your capsule collection (especially for those of us who live in Melbourne with unpredictable weather).

Looking into a messy wardrobe is not condusive to finding something to wear. Get it sorted, and get yourself a Wardrobe Review with a Professional!

Love Susan
