Big hello!

Almost everyday as I was growing up I would have thoughts of “what am I supposed to be doing with my life” and I knew deep down inside that I was meant for something brilliant, but WHAT???!!!

I tried every job imaginable under the sun (apart from McDonalds and being the local garbage lady), I’m pretty sure I’ve had a crack at most “everyday” types of jobs.  And they would never stick or I wouldn’t fit, or it didn’t feel right, mostly I didn’t like being told what to do when I was younger, but also, I just “had a sense” it wasn’t what I was supposed to be doing.  So WHAT is it and HOW the hell can I find it?

Do you know the feeling?

Awesome.  Because this is where understanding, creating and developing a Powerful Personal Brand comes in.  I call this your “Language of Style”.  Simply put, Style is everywhere.  Its in the way that we walk, talk, brush our hair, it’s the way we choose to dress and adorn ourselves, it’s the car we drive, the house we live in.  Style is everywhere and within that there is a Language and this is how we communicate to the world.

What has this got to do with figuring out your “what”?  Well, here’s the thing.  If you are out of tune with your Language of Style, you are not being Fluent in YOU.  This will always come across to others in your current “what” (e.g. the job or business that you are currently in) and you will have a feeling somewhere inside, that something is just a little off.  A bit like that mouldy cheese stuck at the back of the fridge, it’s there lingering but not really harming or doing anything.

But at some point you will remove that mouldy cheese from the back of the fridge (because it really has to go), which leaves room for new, fresh cheese.  Not really sure where I came up with this cheese analogy, but I’ll keep going, it’s working for me right now!

When that cheese is removed, just like that feeling “that something aint quite right”, a whole new world of opportunities comes.  Because there is ROOM for them.  You’ve moved past the old mould and created space.

OK, so you know that something ‘aint right and you know you should do something about it.  But you haven’t as you don’t think you know how.  But you also know, that something has to give as you don’t want to look back at your life at 80 and have regrets of “I wish I had….”

The first thing that you need to do to uncover your big “what” is to Identify everything that you love to do.  I mean EVERYTHING.

Make a list today of all of the things that bring you absolute joy.  Be thorough with this list as it’s going to change the way you think about you and will also uncover the clues to your “what” and your Language of Style.

You may have convinced yourself that you are supposed to be something you are not.  Who have you convinced yourself to be?  Take the time now to remember the things you love to do (not what your partner, parents, friends etc love to do, but what YOU love to to do!)

Get this done today and I’ll be back next week with what you need to do with this list!
